What is Walk Your Plans?
Walk Your Plans is a full-scale floor plan projection studio in College Station, Texas. We project your architectural drawings at true 1:1 scale onto a studio floor so you can physically walk through your future home or building at actual size before construction begins.
What is a full-scale floor plan walkthrough?
It is a session in which your floor plan is projected at life size on a large studio floor. Walls, doorways, islands, and fixtures appear at the exact dimensions they will be built, so you evaluate the space by walking it rather than by interpreting a drawing.
When does Walk Your Plans open?
We open in late 2026. The waitlist is open now, and we contact people on the waitlist before we open to the general public.
Where are you located?
Our studio is at 8417 Parameter Ct., College Station, TX 77845. Every session happens at the studio, because projecting a plan at full scale requires a large, controlled, unobstructed floor.
Do you come to my site, or do I come to you?
You come to us. The projection equipment and the floor space it needs are fixed to the studio, so all sessions across our nine-county territory take place in College Station.
How is this different from a VR or 3D walkthrough?
VR shows you a simulation of a space, at a simulated scale, through a headset. Full-scale projection puts the real dimensions on the floor around you, at real size, with your own body and everyone else on the project standing in it. You are not judging how big a room looks. You are standing in it and finding out how big it is.
Is this the same as staking out a foundation?
It is related but far more detailed. A stake-out gives you an exterior footprint. A full-scale projection gives you every interior wall, doorway, cabinet run, fixture, and clearance, indoors, at any time of year, with the ability to change things and look again.
Booking and preparing
How do I send you my plans?
Email a PDF of your floor plan to rebecca@walkyourplansaggieland.com at least 24 hours before your visit so we can have everything prepared when you arrive.
What file format do you need?
A PDF works best. If you only have another format, contact us and we will tell you whether we can work with it.
Do I need final construction drawings?
No. A working floor plan is enough, and earlier is generally better. The entire value of the session comes from making changes while they are still inexpensive.
How far in advance should I book?
We recommend at least a week where possible, and your plans need to reach us at least 24 hours beforehand. Waitlist members will get first access to scheduling when we open.
How long does a typical session last?
Around two to three hours, though it varies with project size. Simple plans go faster; large or multi-level homes take longer.
Who should come to the session?
We recommend homebuilders bring their clients, architects, and any other decision makers, so that everyone reaches the same conclusions at the same time. For homeowners, bringing your builder and designer along makes the session considerably more productive.
I am not a builder. Can I book a session?
Yes. While we recommend bringing your builder, architect, and anyone else involved in decision making, it is not a requirement.
Can children come?
Yes, and families building a home often bring them. Children frequently have clear opinions about their own rooms, and those opinions are easier to act on before construction than after.
What happens in a session
What can I actually check at full scale?
Room proportions, hallway widths, kitchen island clearance, door swings, closet depth, furniture fit, bathroom layouts, sight lines from key positions, and circulation between spaces. In commercial projects, customer flow, staff flow, and equipment clearances.
How many changes do people typically make?
Our figures put an average session at roughly five to ten client changes. What matters more than the count is the timing: they are changes made before construction rather than during it.
Can we change the plan during the session?
Yes, that is the point. Changes are marked as you go, and in many cases the projection can be adjusted so you can test a fix immediately instead of imagining it.
Can you project a two-story home?
Yes. Multi-level plans are projected one level at a time, so you walk each floor in turn. Stair placement and the relationship between floors are common things people reassess once they have walked both levels.
What is the largest plan you can handle?
The studio accommodates typical residential and small commercial floor plates. Very large plans can be walked in sections. If you are unsure whether your project fits, send us the square footage and we will tell you.
Do I need to bring furniture measurements?
It helps a great deal. If you intend to keep specific furniture, bring its dimensions. Discovering that an existing sectional does not fit the new living room is a common and valuable finding.
What do I leave with?
A marked-up set of decisions, and agreement among everyone who attended. Because the whole group reached the same conclusions in the same room, those decisions tend to stay decided.
Pricing
How much does a session cost?
Pricing is based on session length and the package you choose. We publish full pricing at launch and share it directly with waitlist members beforehand.
How is the final cost calculated?
Final cost depends on the package selected and the actual length of the session. For subscription packages, included hours are applied first and additional time is billed at the applicable rate.
Do you offer packages for builders who use this repeatedly?
Yes. We will offer subscription options designed for builders and firms who expect recurring use, including discounted rates on additional hours. Details go out to waitlist members before launch.
Service area
What areas does Walk Your Plans serve?
Nine Texas counties: Brazos, McLennan, Washington, Grimes, Burleson, Madison, Robertson, Leon, and Falls. That includes College Station, Bryan, Waco, Brenham, Navasota, Caldwell, Madisonville, Hearne, Franklin, Centerville, and Marlin.
Do you serve Waco?
Yes. McLennan County is in our territory, including Waco, Woodway, Hewitt, China Spring, Robinson, and McGregor. The studio is about 1 hour 40 minutes from Waco down Highway 6.
Do you serve Brenham?
Yes. Washington County is in our territory, including Brenham, Burton, Chappell Hill, and Independence. The studio is about 55 minutes from Brenham.
Do you serve Navasota?
Yes. Grimes County is in our territory, including Navasota, Anderson, Iola, Bedias, and Plantersville. The studio is about 25 minutes from Navasota.
Do you serve Bryan and College Station?
Yes. Brazos County is our home market, and the studio is 10 to 20 minutes from most of Bryan and College Station.
What if I am outside your nine counties?
Get in touch anyway. The territory defines where we actively market, not who we are permitted to serve, and clients are welcome to drive in from anywhere.
Project types
Does this work for renovations and additions?
Yes. For renovation work the critical question is usually how the existing footprint connects to the addition and whether the finished house circulates as one coherent space. That is nearly invisible on a drawing and obvious at full scale.
Can you project a barndominium or metal building layout?
Yes, and open-shell projects are among the best uses of a session. Because the structure dictates almost nothing about the interior arrangement, the layout is entirely a design decision, and those are hard to evaluate on paper.
Can commercial tenants use this for lease decisions?
Yes, and before signing is arguably the ideal time. Walking a candidate space at full scale tells you whether it supports your operation while you still have the option to choose a different space.
Do you work on restaurant and kitchen layouts?
Yes. Staff circulation and equipment clearances are operational costs that repeat on every shift, and they are among the hardest things to judge from a plan.
Is this useful for interior design projects without construction?
Yes. Furniture fit, clearances, circulation, and sight lines are exactly what full-scale projection answers best, and they are largely interior questions.
